From the hills of Udi to the plains of Uzo-Uwani, Agbaja (Enugu) unites communities under a shared constitution and a shared destiny.
1.0 Preamble
This Constitution emerges from a collective resolve β by natives and indigenes across Udi, Ezeagu, Enugu North, Enugu South, Enugu East, Oji River, Uzo-Uwani and Igbo Etiti β to live as one people in unity, harmony and shared responsibility for our common future.
We the people of AGBAJA (ENUGU) made up of primarily natives and indigenes
of Udi, Ezeagu, Enugu North, Enugu South, Enugu East, Oji River, Uzo-Uwani and Igbo Etiti Local Government
Areas of Enugu State having firmly resolved to live in unity and harmony as one people dedicated to
promotion of mutual co-existence, peace, justice and love as members of one great clan/nation.
We do hereby resolve to give ourselves a Constitution for good governance of
our clan/nation based on principles, freedom, equity and equal rights of the Federating Communities,
peoples and persons.

From investment and cultural summits to town halls, weekly Izu Agbaja programmes and national constitutional engagements, Agbaja (Enugu) Leaders of Thought is already shaping policy, discourse and development trajectories for our people.
A landmark gathering focused on investment and culture in Agbaja land, bringing together stakeholders from government, business, communities and the diaspora.
Addressed security challenges and socio-economic empowerment strategies, aligning community voices with practical solutions for Ndi Agbaja.
A weekly programme inviting experts and leaders β including Members of the House of Representatives (MHR Udi/Ezeagu in NASS and others) β to speak on issues such as coal and its environmental impact, and innovations like yam production in bags, warmly received by the people.
Submitted Agbajaβs recommendations on the review of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Notably, the recommendation on tax review was adopted by the government.
Agbaja Board of Trustees members addressed Ndi Igwe of Udi and Ezeagu extractions separately on major issues of concern to Ndi Agbaja; other activities abound in this ongoing renaissance.

Constitution Highlights
The Agbaja (Enugu) Leaders of Thought Constitution defines our name, aims and objectives, membership, management structure and the functions of our various organs β from the Board of Trustees to the Standing Committees.
The name of the Association shall be known as: AGBAJA (ENUGU) LEADERS OF THOUGHT.
The Board of Trustees is the highest decision-making body, meeting at least twice yearly. The Executive Committee comprises the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Financial Secretary, Treasurer and PRO, each with clearly defined duties regarding leadership, administration, finance, communication and defence of the Constitution.
Detailed provisions on roles such as Chairman (executive head and trustee), Vice Chairman, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Financial Secretary, Treasurer and Public Relations Officer ensure accountability, transparency and effective governance of the Association.
Leadership Framework
Agbaja (Enugu) Leaders of Thought operates through a structured framework that ensures strategy, law, education, mobilisation, finance, media, culture and conferences are handled with clarity and accountability.
Develops plans and strategies, serves as think tank and presents matters for general discussion.
In charge of all legal matters; advises the Association on legal issues and assignments.
Develops educational programmes and innovative ideas across primary, secondary and tertiary levels.
Contacts and mobilises stakeholders; organises satellite and suburb communities into vibrant units.
Identifies and mobilises youths for security, socio-political, cultural and economic development.
Harnesses existing women groups and forms new ones relevant to Association activities.
Generates funds, identifies funding sources and engages individuals, groups and corporate bodies.
Handles publicity, media relations and promotion of the Associationβs internal and public image.
Oversees traditions, culture, chieftaincy matters, land disputes and festivals with traditional rulers.
Organises conferences, seminars and symposia; handles publications of the Association.
Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Financial Secretary, Treasurer and Public Relations Officer provide executive leadership, uphold the Constitution, manage finances and ensure communication with members, in line with detailed duties set out in Article Five.
Membership
Membership of Agbaja (Enugu) Leaders of Thought is open to all indigenes of the Agbaja Nation β by birth or marriage β aged 18 years and above. Together, we chart a future of unity, equity, culture, freedom and justice, from the hills of Udi to every corner of the diaspora.
